The 2nd class tourist in St.Moritz ;p

Truly unforgettable!! You have to check my pictures. Again, they are best described how I felt and what I love about the place. I went up to the mountain, St. Moritz by car, stayed a night at my friend’s apartment. The weather was good, 2000m above ground , it was all-time cool, filled with unpolluted breeze and unspoilt scenery. Really felt so much in heaven.

As you view my photos, this elegant St. Moritz has everything, I am serious. We went to the snow-capped mountains (wasn’t too cold because firstly the sun was shining straight at us, secondly , we had to climb up all the way to the 4000m peak of the mountain). Also love the majestic glaciers, striking lakes and river alleys and needless to say, the range of beautiful rolling hills was never enough for me. I did snap lots of pictures from the car, and my friend was like ‘what are you doinggggg?..you know.. We will have better view from the mountain’.

Okok..I know.I have to admit I was just like any Japanese tourist, I mean the extreme one. Because of that I am now called the 2nd class tourist. :p how come 2nd class? I don’t know. Maybe I am not the best yet??!! :p

And you know what, my local friends were unbelievable feeling fine when I was already almost dying at the end of the day …what we had; walking uphill, trekking the forest, the rocks, crossing rivers were peanuts to them…I am not even referring to 4-5 hours but doing that for the whole day!! How could you not be tired!! I cant believe I am no where near ;p

On the way down, I took a CHF20 (RM60) special dried beef salad known to be orginated from the place. Reflecting how much I spent on it, I admited I feel stupid now.*doink* nice but not worth it.

Towards the end of my photos, you will see some marmite ( holes formed by the downstream of water / current/ melted glaciers ). Very impressive huh

Me..Alas..Peak of the Mountain :)

AlbaniFest - drink till you drop

Summer is simply full of festivals and parties!!! Last weekend, 24-26th , AlbaniFest was held in Winterthur, my city, the 6th largest city in Switzerland  It was huge, never-before-seen event at my city; so congested with people, food, beers, games, rides and loud music. Me and my friends were supposed to meet at 9pm but I first strolled by my own in the early evening and little did I know that it was so beautiful and lively. I buzzed all my friends, insisting we had to party early!! We hopped from one bar to another, and this was simply how huge the party was going on the streets !!

Just too many foreigners in Zürich

After much hu-ha about Zürich city, today was my first day to the lake. There were tonnes of people, and tonnes of foreigners, and tonnes of youngsters. After Geneva, Zürich has the most population of non-Swiss-approx 20-30% are foreigners. Because of this, Zürich is not the best place I want to be, nevertheless, I still love the lake, and will be my second home very soon, for sure, it is for the lake, some friends and maybe for many events there, but not more.;)

Glorious Lake of Lugano

As early as 6.30am, I woke up to take a 3-hour train down to Lugano Lake (down south which is an hour to Milan). Yesterday's late-night party dizzyness was strongly taking effect on me while I was in the train, me yawning and yawning away and cant remember if I brushed my teeth or not. So,I went to toilet to freshen up and when I got back, it was heaven!! I saw glimpses outside of the window and it was astonishing. completely nothing ever seen before. We were high up,so we caught the entire view of lake, mountains, farms and forests. You will get better picture when you view my first few photos in my album.

When we arrived, we roamed around the lakeside city of Lugano-the atmosphere was modern, cosmopolitan and indeterminately chic. Hey, I cant describe best in words. If only you allow the photos to speak for themselves, you must quickly check them out now.

What I really love more were their pizzas. I took ‘formaggi’ which had 4 different kind of cheese on it!! hey..easily said the best pizza I ever eaten!!

Gorgeous Lugano Lake ( Close to Italy ) – thanks to JeanMichel :)

aahhh...so cool. Would be fun to sail, isnt it?

Justin Timberlake!! clap* clap*

BBQ party, it is almost everywhere and on any occasions. I went to this BBQ student party and it was like a camper's theme where everyone dressed in white, shorts, crumppled t-shirts and pyjamas (ok..no pyjamas but some looked like one really). Then you had this cool-but-awful impersonation of Justin Timberlake, preceded by other local singers I dont know and everybody in room was laughing except ME!! I felt lost a while...ok..But the whole point was they did it on purpose, so it was also entertaining to watch them stupidly dancing and singing.

I say Malaysia is Hot-To-Go!!

As usual, I was burning midnight’s oil to do my first Malaysia Presentation to AIESEC members. I had to ‘perah otak’ for some solid historical facts and non-boring cultural stuffs, it was tough but at the end of the day, I must say it was mostly the fine work done by internet. :)

Although my presentation was based mainly on history and cultural, it was the relatively low living standard and the ‘lah’ astonished and amused them. The scenario never change. ‘Lah’ was integrated into every sentence and any word they made, so cute, just like our trainees.

Bern, Switz capital came from Bear

I headed down to Bern, capital city of Switz which is an hour from Zurich. Check out the photos. Very preserved and protected city. We went up the hills, much sense of relaxation and tranquility to enjoy here. We were able to catch a glimpse of the stupendous Alps and on the lower ground, there were all shades of green and widely scattered farms.

This swiss capital is also somehow Einstein's one-stop worship centre. Einstein's face and name adorn all manner of things in Bern. You see his picture and monuments everywhere, from jewellery shops to restaurants to train stations. I was so puzzled. Yes, he was living in Bern 100 years ago and developed his theory of special relativity but what does it have to do with business? It is ok for museum to honour the physicist but what about business?! Really haven't got a glue...

If you not know, bern came from bear in German. Long long time ago..a warrior compromised that the city will be named after the first animal he killed. He got attacked by a Bear, so subsequently this was how you got Bern!!

Bear will best describe Bern :)

Small world in AIESEC Trainees Party

I was told there were more than 30 trainees in Switz. This party itself had about 10-15 trainees and others were either travellers or ex-trainees who have been working under permanent contract from 1-3 years. Poles, Germans and Austrian made up majority, the rest from Latvia, New Zealand, Australia and China (this stuck-up Chinese gal was the most lang-si person I met in Switz so far. She only reacted towards me, I dont know why but I assumed because I was another Chinese, she was afraid I will steal her thunder or so. Anyway,i cant be bother as it was also Daria (from Latvia) birthday party that night (as in pic). I enjoyed though. Daria was absolutely one of the craziest and bubbliest gal I have seen. It was her birthday but she continued asking if everyone was having a GOOD time..with heavy Russian accent of course. It sounded so cute..and funny!

Then I met this Austrian (Dani), AIESECer as well who happened to visit Malaysia last year and guess what, she had a tour ride with Philly (our trainee)!!! We were both like..oh my God..such a small world. It was amazing. We had such a good long conversation all night long especially the AIESEC elements :)

Horribly punctual people

Back to work, my company, CWK is awesome. They develop and manufacture all range of personal care products, more than 100 specimens. I had a stream of briefing and will continue throughout this week; visits and intro to development, production, quality control, marketing, HR, product briefing and etc. However, my job role is not so dependant on those fields, because I am conducting a South-East Asia project-based research which is giving me some hard time at the moment. Travelling to office is something I have yet to adjust to. Missing the train twice, thinking how to save for lunch and walking 10 mins daily to office are rather dreadful and sometimes demotivating.

I also had some 'punctuality' shock in my first few days in CWK. I knew these people are punctual but never imagine how timely they work on schedules as well. All my briefing or appointments began right on the dot; even there was once, my superiors came over to my place to call me to her room when I should be going there myself. Really scary..and that was what I meant coming right on the dot.

Gorgeous Campus Party

Today, again another student party but this time it was in a campus. It was tremendously huge. If there was 200 people yesterday, today was like 20 times more. This campus was divided into 4 party rooms – hiphop (my fav.), salsa, electronic, variety. All rooms were packed, along with the campus – I enjoyed so much. It was also a discovery to knowing Switz has so many gorgeous guys!!! I was just so excited. I totally stood out in the crowd ( bcos of my colour ) and was overwhelmed at some point, but you got to know that for a fact that most Swiss guys are already taken here. So, it does not mean anything ya and not easy as you think ;p

Because I am different, I get all sorts of races’ guesses. Tibet, Japanese, Korean, and handful only guess I was Chinese. But what really impressed me was that out of a ratio of 10, 8 have been to Malaysia and the rest still knows about Twin Towers and the city. For once, I am proud to be a Malaysian. Malaysia Boleh !

Big Parade on St. Christopher Street's Day

It was St. Christopher Street’s Day, day to celebrate the equal rights of 'different' humanbeings. Check out the pics. Tonnes of people paraded along the streets of Zurich, with streams of performers and resounding music. I was like damnnn…I wanted to join but my friend wasn’t too amazed, so I also had to pretend not :( nevertheless, I heard there is a much bigger one in August, similar concept but difference is we have people coming from all over Europe. It is as big as October Fest!!! Keep my fingers crossed!!

My 1st Sweet Student Party

1st student apartment party & 1st visit to Zurich city. My friends told me there are tonnes of these every week. I went to this apartment which had 5-6 floors, looked rather dated from far back as the staircase was made of woods, had narrow sidewalks and faded colour walls, and really strange green nesting spread over the staircase. It was so special, I was so fascinated with the design, but seriously I would not want to live here as my apartment is so much bigger and newer :)

Anyway, what was also cool was that people were crowding the little apartment at every corner, chit-chatting and enjoying their drink. Trust me, you will never see this sort of atmosphere in Malaysia. I then met few people and they were all so crazy and lively. After me and my introduction, we were simply crapping most of the time. Check out my photo album. Don’t be deceived by their looks, they are all Swiss ;)
